OVERVIEW: The K-STER C is an expendable torpedo‑like ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) designed for underwater mine disposal. It enhances naval mine countermeasure operations by safely neutralizing underwater mines from a distance.

DETAILS: The K-STER C features a compact, lightweight design optimized for deployment from mine countermeasure vessels and unmanned surface vehicles. It is equipped with a shaped charge warhead capable of neutralizing various types of sea mines including bottom, moored, and influence mines. Powered by a lithium-ion battery, the vehicle can reach speeds of up to 6 knots and operate up to 2,000 meters from the operator. Its low acoustic and magnetic signatures comply with NATO standards to ensure safe operation in mine-threatened environments.

TYPE: Expendable Mine Disposal Vehicle (EMDV)

FUNCTION: The K-STER C is deployed remotely to the suspected mine location, where it uses its shaped charge to neutralize the mine. Its autonomous navigation and propulsion allow for precise maneuvering, enabling safe mine clearance while keeping personnel out of harm’s way.
